AB 2466 Summary

• Extends the effective date of state agency regulations from 30 days to 90 days after filing with the Secretary of State, unless the authorizing statute prescribes otherwise or the agency specifies a later date.

• Requires the Office of Administrative Law to submit a copy of each approved regulation to both houses of the Legislature for review in addition to filing with the Secretary of State.

• Mandates that appropriate policy committees in each house review submitted regulations for consistency with the Legislature's intent regarding the authorizing statute and provide recommendations on whether regulations should be repealed.
