Amends California Civil Code Section 1714 to create an exception to social host liability for parents, guardians, or other adults who knowingly furnish alcohol to persons under 21 years of age at their residence

Permits legal claims against such adults where furnishing alcoholic beverages may be found as the proximate cause of resulting injuries or death

Maintains existing protection for social hosts who furnish alcohol to adults, preventing them from being held liable for injuries or damages resulting from consumption

Legislatively overrides prior court decisions (Vesely v. Sager, Bernhard v. Harrah's Club, and Coulter v. Superior Court) regarding proximate cause in alcohol-related injury cases
