AB 451 Summary

• Establishes new trespass offense for knowingly entering an annual, live-televised event not open to the general public without authorization, if area is posted with reasonable notice restricting access.

• First offense punishable by up to 6 months county jail or $1,000 fine or both; second or subsequent offense punishable by up to 6 months county jail or $2,000 fine or both, or as infraction for first offense per Section 19.8.

• Defines events as not open to general public if entrance requires individual invitation or ticket purchase.

• Excludes activities arising from labor disputes involving labor organizations from this trespass provision.

• Adds Section 602.13 to list of offenses subject to infraction penalties under Penal Code Section 19.8 and modifies related trespass statutes regarding private property convictions and public transit facility access.
