AB 874 Summary

• Removes the requirement that skateboard park riders wear elbow pads and knee pads, keeping only the helmet requirement in effect
• Eliminates the mandate for local public agencies to maintain and file annual records of skateboard-related injuries and claims with the Judicial Council
• Removes the requirement for the Judicial Council to submit a report to the Legislature by March 31, 2011, regarding skateboard park injuries and lawsuits
• Maintains existing provisions regarding hazardous recreational activity liability for public skateboard parks constructed after January 1, 1998
• Continues helmet-only safety requirements for skateboard park operators through existing law
