• Designates the portion of State Highway Route 111 between Interstate 8 and State Highway Route 78 in Imperial County as the Imperial Valley Pioneers Expressway
• Honors Imperial Valley pioneers from 1901 onward who developed the desert region into a $1 billion annual agricultural economy through irrigation from the Colorado River
• Recognizes the multicultural heritage of early settlers including African American, Chinese, Filipino, Italian, Japanese American, Mexican, and other ethnic communities
• Requests the Department of Transportation to determine the cost of appropriate signage for this special designation and erect signs upon receiving sufficient donations from nonstate sources
