Designates the second week of October 2010, and annually thereafter, as Disability History Week in California

Encourages school districts, community colleges, public and private institutions of higher education, state and local agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses to observe the week through classroom instruction or all-inclusive activities

Recognizes the contributions of people with disabilities to American society and the disability rights movement, including the work of Ed Roberts in founding the independent living movement and the 1977 Section 504 sit-in in San Francisco

Calls for education about disability history to promote understanding between students with and without disabilities, reduce stigmatization and discrimination, and increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities

Requires the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of the resolution to the Governor, Superintendent of Public Schools, University of California Regents, California State University, and other state agencies
