Requires Department of Corrections employees to comply with confidential interviews requested by the Inspector General, with employers providing time off for such interviews.

Makes the Inspector General subject to Government Code Sections 3303, 3307, 3307.5, 3308, 3309, and 3309.5 when employee interviews could lead to punitive action, ensuring public safety officer protections apply.

Establishes that memoranda of understanding between employers and employees cannot override or add requirements to the Government Code protections that apply to Inspector General investigations.
