SB 1115 Summary

• Makes cross-reference changes throughout California law to update references to deadly weapons statutes that are being reorganized by Senate Bill 1080, effective January 1, 2012.

• Updates citations in the Business and Professions Code, Penal Code, Family Code, Health and Safety Code, Fish and Game Code, Government Code, Civil Code, Code of Civil Procedure, Public Contract Code, and Welfare and Institutions Code to reflect new section numbers for firearms and weapons provisions.

• Becomes operative only if SB 1080 is enacted and becomes operative on January 1, 2012; the two bills work together to reorganize deadly weapons statutes on that effective date.

• Contains a subordination clause providing that any other 2010 legislation that takes effect before January 1, 2012 and amends the same sections shall prevail over this bill.
