SB 1124 Summary

• Authorizes San Bernardino County to sell or exchange property in the Chino Agricultural Preserve purchased with state conservation grant funds, provided all preserved lands and easements are maintained in perpetuity for agricultural or open-space purposes

• Requires the County Board of Supervisors to adopt a detailed land plan by December 31, 2011, identifying which parcels will be sold, exchanged, purchased, or retained, with environmental review and California Department of Parks and Recreation approval

• Mandates the county record conservation easements on retained properties by April 1, 2012, and ensures no net loss of acreage or habitat value from any property transactions

• Requires the county to submit independent appraisals to the state for approval, provide public reports on all land sales/revenues, and allow the department to approve all proposed uses of proceeds from property sales

• Repeals Chapter 377 of the Statutes of 2004 and declares this amendment is consistent with the California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act
