Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training must assess whether peace officers need training on recognizing and interacting with persons suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

If training need is identified, the commission must create and distribute a course on DVD or electronically to law enforcement agencies covering how to recognize and interact with returning veterans or others with TBI or PTSD

Commission shall develop the training course in consultation with the Department of Veterans Affairs and organizations with expertise in TBI and PTSD

Commission must distribute training bulletins via the Internet to participating law enforcement agencies on TBI and PTSD topics as necessary

Commission must report to the Legislature by June 30, 2012 on the extent to which peace officers are receiving adequate training on interacting with persons suffering from TBI or PTSD
