Allows a maximum exit access travel distance of 400 feet for one-story buildings classified as Group F-1 (factory/industrial) or S-1 (storage) occupancies when equipped with early suppression fast response sprinkler systems and minimum 30-foot interior height.

Applies as an interim measure pending formal adoption of the standard into the California Building Code by the California Building Standards Commission.

Addresses concerns that the 2010 California Building Code revision reducing the maximum distance to 250 feet would negatively impact the real estate and construction industries during the recession.

Notes that large warehouse buildings have safely operated under the 400-foot standard for 14 years with no documented injury reports.
