SB 907 Summary

• Establishes the Office of Federal Funding Information and Assistance within the Office of Planning and Research to help eligible entities in California access federal funding opportunities.

• Office may only be established after the Department of Finance determines that sufficient private funds, federal funds, or non-General Fund moneys will be deposited annually to fully support its operations.

• Office shall track federal funding availability, maintain a website and email list of opportunities, provide monthly newsletters and technical assistance through workshops and seminars, and engage in other activities to increase successful federal grant applications.

• Office may seek federal funding, charge reasonable fees, and enter into partnerships with public, private, and nonprofit entities to cover operational costs.

• Office shall submit an annual report to the Governor and Legislature by December 15 each year detailing its costs, activities, results, and recommendations for improvement.
