Designates May 19, 2010, as the 22nd Annual State Scientist Day to honor California state scientists.

Recognizes nearly 3,000 professional scientists employed across over 30 state departments working in more than 230 scientific classifications.

Acknowledges state scientists' critical work protecting public health, wildlife, natural resources, air and water quality through disease prevention, oil spill response, water monitoring, and agricultural protection.

Highlights the annual State Scientist Day event at the State Capitol, which educates over 2,000 elementary school students through hands-on science exhibits and demonstrations.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute copies of this resolution to appropriate parties.
