Proclaims May 2010 as Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month in California to increase public awareness and support for patients and families affected by the genetic disorder.

Identifies neurofibromatosis (NF) as a debilitating genetic disorder affecting over 10,000 Californians that causes tumors to grow throughout the body with symptoms ranging from mild to severe.

Notes that NF is linked to multiple serious health conditions including cancer, brain tumors, memory loss, learning disabilities, heart disease, blindness, deafness, and orthopedic problems.

Acknowledges that genes causing NF were discovered in the 1990s and researchers have made progress in understanding the disorder and developing drugs to combat it.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
