SCR 94 Summary

• Designates April 27, 2010, as Schoolbus Drivers' Day in California to recognize schoolbus drivers for their continued and excellent services to pupils

• Acknowledges that schoolbus drivers maintain child safety for up to six or seven hours each school day and deserve special public recognition

• Recognizes the professional requirements of schoolbus drivers including initial training, license maintenance, continuing education, and mechanical bus maintenance

• Notes that schoolbus drivers perform additional duties including counseling pupils, managing behavior, and safely navigating natural and unexpected hazards

• Directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute copies of this resolution to appropriate parties
