Requires state agencies, boards, and commissions collecting demographic data to use separate categories for major Asian groups (Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, Vietnamese, Asian Indian, Laotian, Cambodian) and Pacific Islander groups (Hawaiian, Guamanian, Samoan)

Mandates all demographic reports on ancestry or ethnic origins published or released on or after July 1, 2012 include data broken down by these separate collection categories

Applies additional requirements to the Department of Industrial Relations and Department of Fair Employment and Housing to also collect data on additional Asian groups (Bangladeshi, Hmong, Indonesian, Malaysian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Taiwanese, Thai) and Pacific Islander groups (Fijian, Tongan)

Requires the specified agencies to post collected demographic data on their Internet websites by July 1, 2012 and update annually, except for personal identifying information which remains confidential

Obligates the Department of Industrial Relations and Department of Fair Employment and Housing to update their data collection categories within 18 months after the 2020 decennial Census is released to align with Census Bureau reporting
