Amends Education Code Section 35179.1 to expand the California High School Coaching Education and Training Program's training requirements

Adds mandatory instruction on signs and symptoms of concussions and appropriate response protocols to existing CPR and first aid certification requirements

Allows concussion training to be completed through free, online, or other alternative training courses offered by various entities

Maintains the program's administration by school districts with emphasis on coaching philosophy, sport psychology, pedagogy, physiology, management, and regulatory compliance

Became effective August 17, 2012
