Disqualifies persons convicted of felonies involving bribery, embezzlement of public money, extortion, theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit these crimes from any public employment for 5 years.

Applies only to persons employed at will to provide services to elected public officers who took or were reelected to office on or after January 1, 2013.

The 5-year disqualification period begins on the later of either the date of final conviction or the date of release from incarceration.

Applies to all employment with cities, counties, districts, and other public agencies in California, including charter cities and charter counties.

Requires the crimes to arise directly out of the person's official duties as a public employee.
