AB 1741 Summary

• Establishes the California Community Colleges Student Success and Support Program Act of 2012 to provide faculty counseling and instructional infrastructure at community colleges to increase student success and access to support services

• Sets four specific goals: increasing the ratio of counselors to students, increasing funding for categorical student support programs, increasing the percentage of credit instruction taught by full-time instructors, and expanding part-time faculty office hours

• Requires the Board of Governors to develop an annual plan supporting the goals of this act and the Seymour-Campbell Student Success Act of 2012 that is consistent with individual district needs and statewide student success policies

• Requires the Board of Governors to incorporate student success elements into implementation of the Seymour-Campbell Student Success Act and ensure all budget requests to the Governor and Legislature propose sufficient funding for both acts
