Amends Government Code Section 18933 to require the State Personnel Board to notify the Department of Veterans Affairs when any promotional examination for civil service positions is announced or advertised to eligible candidates

Notification to Veterans Affairs must include the job position and all examination details: date and place, minimum qualifications, general scope, relative weight of test components, and other relevant information

Maintains existing requirement that examinations be announced or advertised within a reasonable time before the scheduled examination date

Applies specifically to promotional examinations for establishment of eligible lists in state civil service positions
