CA AB2410

Prohibits persons convicted of felonies involving bribery, embezzlement of public money, extortion, theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit these crimes from being candidates for or elected to any state or local elective office.

Defines "conviction of a felony" to include convictions in California, other states, the United States, or foreign governments for crimes that would constitute felonies if committed in California.

Excludes from the prohibition any person who has received a pardon from the California Governor, another state governor, the President of the United States, or the authorized officer of a foreign jurisdiction.

Effective upon approval by the Governor on July 23, 2012.
