Make it a misdemeanor (punishable by up to $1,000 fine and/or 6 months county jail) to knowingly manufacture, import, keep for sale, or give/lend any device capable of converting an ammunition feeding device into a large-capacity magazine, effective January 1, 2013.

Require handgun ammunition vendors to report to local law enforcement within 24 hours when they sell, supply, or deliver more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an individual within any 5 consecutive day period, with failure to report being a misdemeanor punishable by up to $1,000 fine and/or 6 months county jail.

Add devices capable of converting ammunition feeding devices into large-capacity magazines to the list of weapons prohibited for persons under postrelease community supervision.

Exempt ammunition sales to certain specified persons and sales of specified ammunition types from the reporting requirement.

Allow cities and counties to adopt more stringent ammunition sales reporting regulations than those specified in the bill.
