Amends Education Code Section 49548 to extend the waiver application deadline for free or reduced-price meal requirements during summer school sessions from 30 days to 60 days before the last regular state board meeting prior to the summer session

School districts may obtain one-year waivers if a Summer Food Service Program for Children site operates within one-half mile of elementary schools or one mile of middle/high schools with specific operating hour requirements

Waivers may be granted if serving meals would cause documented financial losses equal to one-third of net cash resources or one month of average operating costs during summer sessions

Waivers are available if the entire summer school day is two hours or less in duration

State board and Superintendent must encourage schools and public agencies to participate in the Summer Food Service Program for Children
