Authorizes special death benefits under the Public Employees' Retirement Law for Riverside County Sheriff's Department Correctional Deputies and Correctional Corporals who die as a direct result of injury arising out of their official duties

Requires the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board to determine, using workers' compensation hearing procedures, whether a member's death resulted from an industrial injury in disputed cases

Limits the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board's jurisdiction to the issue of industrial causation only and prohibits awarding costs against the retirement system

Makes the section operative only after a memorandum of understanding is agreed to by Riverside County and the Riverside Sheriffs' Association

Declares that a special law is necessary for Riverside County due to unique circumstances regarding death benefits
