AB 806 Summary

• Makes technical conforming changes to California law to reflect a proposed revision and recodification of the Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act, effective January 1, 2014.

• Amends numerous sections across Business and Professions Code, Civil Code, Code of Civil Procedure, Government Code, Health and Safety Code, Insurance Code, Revenue and Taxation Code, Vehicle Code, and Water Code to update references to the recodified common interest development provisions.

• Updates definitions and references from old section numbers (e.g., Section 1351) to new section numbers in the recodified Act (e.g., Section 4100 for common interest development definitions).

• Contingent on the enactment and operation of Assembly Bill 805, which contains the actual substantive revision and recodification of the Davis-Stirling Act.

• Preserves existing law by providing that any other 2012 legislation taking effect before January 1, 2013 that conflicts with this bill shall prevail.
