Designates May 23, 2012, as the 24th Annual State Scientist Day to honor state scientists working in California government.

Recognizes that California employs nearly 3,000 professional scientists across more than 30 state departments in over 230 scientific classifications.

Acknowledges state scientists' critical work in infectious disease prevention, oil spill response, water monitoring, agricultural protection, and disaster response that impacts all Californians.

Notes that State Scientist Day hosts an annual event at the State Capitol featuring hands-on science exhibits that educate over 2,000 elementary school students.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to distribute copies of the resolution to the author.
