Proclaims April 2012 as the month to celebrate the sustainable leadership of California wineries and winegrape growers with the theme "California Wines: Down to Earth."

Recognizes California's 3,400 wineries and 4,600 winegrape growers located in 48 of the state's 58 counties as significant contributors to the state economy and pastoral landscape.

Acknowledges the adoption of a Code of Sustainable Winegrowing comprising 227 best practices that benefit the environment, employees, neighbors, and wine quality.

Highlights California wine industry's conservation efforts including water and energy conservation, habitat protection, natural pest management, and alternative energy promotion.

Notes that various sustainability programs such as Lodi Rules, California Sustainable Winegrowing Association (CSWA), Napa Green, and others serve as models for wine communities outside California.
