Proclaims October 22-31, 2012, as Red Ribbon Week in California with support from over 100 statewide agencies, departments, and organizations

Commemorates the Red Ribbon Campaign initiated by the National Family Partnership after DEA Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena was killed by drug traffickers in Mexico in 1985

Establishes 2012 Red Ribbon Week theme as "Drug Free is the Key" to promote drug prevention, education, parental involvement, and community-wide support

Encourages all Californians to participate in drug prevention activities and make visible statements of commitment to healthy, drug-free lifestyles by wearing and displaying red ribbons

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of the resolution to the Governor and the bill author for distribution throughout the state
