SB 1288 Summary

• Amends Fish and Game Code Section 3033 to expand eligibility for reduced fee hunting licenses to include recovering service members, in addition to disabled veterans
• Defines "recovering service member" as a military member meeting the definition in Section 1602(7) of the federal National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110-181)
• Requires eligible recovering service members to submit documentation from their commanding officer or military medical doctor to prove eligibility for the reduced fee license
• Maintains the base reduced fee hunting license at four dollars ($4) for the license year beginning July 1, 1995, with annual review and adjustment permitted
• Requires the department to verify adequate documentation before issuing any reduced fee hunting license to applicants
