CA SB1333

Establishes the Labor Standards Consultation Unit within the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement to provide consulting services to employers with 100 or fewer employees and employee groups on compliance with wage and hour laws.

Authorizes the consultation unit to charge fees for consulting services not to exceed the actual cost to the unit and to seek grants from governmental and nongovernmental entities, with the intent that the unit become self-supporting.

Requires the division to develop procedures for offering consultation services including training efforts, educational materials, and online resources.

Removes the original provision that would have prohibited the division from citing employers for violations discovered through consultation services if the violation was remedied within a specified timeframe.
