Requires the Attorney General to direct local law enforcement agencies to report criminal activity generated by misuse of private information gathered from the Internet to the Department of Justice in a prescribed manner.

Mandates the Department of Justice, in consultation with the Office of Privacy Protection, to survey local law enforcement agencies to track the amount and type of Internet-related crimes, including review of arrest information, presentence reports, and interviews with police officers, sheriffs, and district attorneys.

Requires the Department of Justice to publish survey findings on its website, including examples of how private information was obtained and misused, amounts and types of criminal activity generated, and recommendations to reduce Internet-related crimes and protect vulnerable populations.

Establishes this as a state-mandated local program requiring reimbursement to local agencies and school districts for compliance costs pursuant to Government Code Part 7, if the Commission on State Mandates determines costs exist.
