CA SB1466

Amends Penal Code Section 830.31 to designate officers of the Department of General Services of the City of Los Angeles who were transferred to the Los Angeles Police Department as peace officers when designated by the Chief of Police or designee.

Authorizes designated officers to enforce law on properties owned, operated, or administered by the City of Los Angeles, including city offices, buildings, facilities, parks, yards, and warehouses.

Requires officers authorized to carry firearms to complete introductory firearm training per Section 832 and requalify every six months.

Prohibits designated officers from carrying firearms when off-duty, even if authorized to carry while on duty.
