CA SB1550

Establishes a voluntary pilot program allowing the California Community Colleges Chancellor to select up to 5 campuses from 5 separate districts to offer extension programs with career and workforce training credit courses.

Selected campuses must meet eligibility criteria including serving students beyond funding limits, prioritizing enrollment of matriculated students, and limiting enrollment in "activity" courses.

Participating districts may establish fees not exceeding actual costs of the pilot program, which include instruction, equipment, supplies, student services, and administrative costs.

Requires participating districts to collect student participation, demographic, and outcome data and submit annual reports to the Chancellor by August 1, with information forwarded to the Legislative Analyst's Office.

Directs the Legislative Analyst's Office to evaluate the pilot program and report to the Legislature by June 30, 2016, including recommendations on whether to extend, expand, or modify the program; pilot program authority expires January 1, 2018.
