Grants 15 additional points on civil service entrance examinations for peace officer positions to veterans who completed acceptable training as military law enforcement officers in the United States Armed Forces.

Requires the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training to establish regulations defining what constitutes "acceptable training" for purposes of veterans' preference in peace officer positions.

Maintains existing veterans' preference structure: disabled veterans receive 15 additional points and other veterans receive 10 additional points for open, nonpromotional civil service entrance examinations.

Prohibits individuals who receive veterans points under this section from being eligible for career credits under existing civil service provisions.

Declares legislative intent to simplify and expedite the process for armed forces veterans with military law enforcement training to become California peace officers.
