CA SB252

Amends Government Code Section 3521.7 to grant state employee peace officers in State Bargaining Unit 7 the right to form a separate bargaining unit composed solely of those employees.

Requires the State Personnel Board to approve any complying severance petition from sworn state peace officers within 30 days of the effective date, provided they follow existing regulations under California Code of Regulations Section 40200.

Establishes extensive legislative findings documenting the duties and responsibilities of Department of Fish and Game wardens and state park peace officers, including law enforcement, wildlife protection, emergency response, and environmental enforcement.

Strikes previous provisions regarding the Government Oversight and Fiscal Accountability Review Act of 2011, which would have required agencies to report on privatization contracts and make subcontract information public.
