• Implements federal Affordable Care Act provisions by expanding Medi-Cal eligibility to adults with incomes below 133% of federal poverty level, effective January 1, 2014.

• Eliminates asset and resource tests for individuals whose financial eligibility is determined using modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) methodology.

• Extends Medi-Cal coverage to foster care adolescents until age 26 and increases postpartum coverage for pregnant women from 60 days to end of month in which 60th day occurs.

• Adds essential health benefits package coverage as adopted by the state and approved by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to the schedule of Medi-Cal benefits.

• Modifies eligibility redetermination procedures to allow electronic communication, accept applicant attestations without additional documentation, and extend the reinstatement period from 30 to 90 days for terminated beneficiaries.
