SB 71 Summary

• Eliminates numerous reporting requirements previously mandated for state agencies to submit reports, plans, and evaluations to the Legislature and other state agencies across multiple subject areas.

• Modifies existing reporting requirements by directing certain agencies to post reports on their Internet websites instead of submitting to the Legislature, requiring agency collaboration on reports, and consolidating duplicative reporting duties.

• Repeals provisions establishing specific advisory committees and boards, including the Advisory Committee on Accounting Ethics Curriculum, Committee of Executive Salaries, naturopathic childbirth attendance advisory subcommittee, and various other specialized commissions.

• Makes conforming technical changes throughout California codes (Business and Professions, Education, Health and Safety, Labor, Penal, Welfare and Institutions, etc.) to align with eliminated reporting and advisory requirements.

• Repeals the Strategic Vision for a Sustainable Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta committee requirement and eliminates an interagency collaborative for candy regulation oversight.
