• Allows patients to access physical therapy treatment directly from licensed physical therapists without requiring a physician referral or diagnosis

• Limits direct access treatment to 30 business days or 12 visits, whichever occurs first, unless the patient obtains approval or medical diagnosis from a physician, osteopathic physician, or podiatrist

• Requires physical therapists to refer patients to appropriate healthcare providers if signs or symptoms suggest conditions beyond physical therapy scope of practice

• Adds licensed physical therapists and occupational therapists as permitted shareholders and employees in medical, podiatric, and chiropractic professional corporations, and adds chiropractors to physical therapy corporations

• Requires medical, podiatric, chiropractic, and physical therapy corporations to disclose to patients in writing that they may seek physical therapy services from any provider of their choice
