CA SB991

Authorizes county supervisors to solemnize marriages in addition to existing authorized persons such as clergy, judges, justices, and mayors.

Requires county supervisors to obtain and review all available marriage solemnization instructions from the county clerk before performing their first marriage ceremony.

Applies the same instruction requirement to elected city mayors as previously required.

Became effective July 9, 2012 after approval by the Governor.
