Proclaims May 2012 as Arthritis Awareness Month in California

Recognizes that arthritis affects an estimated 50 million adults and 294,000 children under 18 in the United States, with 5.1 million people living with arthritis in California

Notes arthritis costs the United States economy more than $128 billion annually in lost wages and health care costs and is the nation's leading cause of physical disability among Americans over 15 years of age

Appreciates the efforts of the California Arthritis Foundation Council to seek access to care for all Californians

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution
