Recognizes June 12, 2012, as the 114th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and calls upon Californians to observe the month of June with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities

Commemorates the Philippine Declaration of Independence on June 12, 1898, when Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed sovereignty and independence from Spanish colonial rule

Acknowledges Filipino Americans' contributions to California and the United States in cultural, economic, and political development, including notable officials such as Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye and labor organizers Larry Dulay Itliong and Philip Vera Cruz

Notes that approximately 3.4 million people of Filipino American descent currently live in the United States and have played vital roles in strengthening American and California society
