Requires governing boards of school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and the State Department of Education (for the California School for the Blind and California School for the Deaf) to adopt a policy on child abuse reporting and mandated reporter responsibilities.

Mandates that all school districts, charter schools, county offices of education, and the California School for the Blind and California School for the Deaf review mandated reporting requirements with all school personnel within the first six weeks of each school year during a regularly scheduled staff meeting.

Establishes that mandated reporters must report if they have knowledge of or reasonably suspect a child has been abused or neglected, in accordance with the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.

Requires reimbursement to local agencies and school districts from the state if the Commission on State Mandates determines the bill imposes costs mandated by the state.
