Authorizes courts to appoint a guardian ad litem to represent the interests of animals for which a trust has been established when representation would otherwise be inadequate.

Prohibits the public guardian from being appointed as a guardian ad litem for animal trusts.

Allows courts to determine reasonable expenses and compensation for guardians ad litem, payable from the animal trust or other sources the court designates.

Defines "animal" for purposes of this section as a domestic or pet animal for which a trust has been established.

Permits the trustee or any authorized person or organization to request appointment of a guardian ad litem to represent an animal's interests in court proceedings.
