Only persons 26 years of age or older who petition to seal their juvenile misdemeanor records may be required to reimburse the court, county, or city for actual costs of services, not to exceed $150 per entity.

Persons under 26 years of age are exempt from paying investigative costs and service fees related to sealing and destruction of their juvenile court or arrest records.

The bill limits cost liability to petitioners 26 years or older, preventing younger individuals from being burdened with fees that could impede their record sealing eligibility.

If the Commission on State Mandates determines this bill creates state-mandated costs for local agencies, reimbursement shall be made pursuant to Government Code Part 7.
