Department of Pesticide Regulation must issue a determination on its reevaluation of neonicotinoids (imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin, and dinotefuran) by July 1, 2018

Department must adopt control measures necessary to protect pollinator health within two years after issuing the determination

If control measures cannot be adopted within the two-year timeframe, the department must submit a report to the Legislature explaining the reasons for the delay

Department must update its report to the Legislature annually until necessary control measures are adopted

Legislation responds to significant honey bee colony losses and recognizes pesticide exposure as a contributing factor to declining pollinator health
