Amends Section 1202 of the Evidence Code to modify rules governing when statements can be used to attack a declarant's credibility in hearsay evidence situations

Maintains existing law allowing admission of inconsistent statements to attack credibility of hearsay declarants generally

Prohibits criminal defendants from introducing evidence of their own inconsistent statements for the purpose of attacking their own credibility as a hearsay declarant

Makes grammatical and technical updates to existing evidence code language including changing "such" to "that" and "shall be deemed to be" to "is"
