Allows qualified students at least 18 years old enrolled in accredited public colleges or universities to taste alcoholic beverages as part of required enology or brewing degree programs without criminal prosecution.

Defines "taste" as drawing an alcoholic beverage into the mouth without swallowing or consuming it, and requires an authorized instructor at least 21 years old to maintain control of the beverage.

Exempts qualified students and academic institutions from prosecution under existing laws prohibiting underage possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages (Sections 25658 and 25662).

Prohibits institutions from charging fees for tasted beverages and requires beverages to be part of formal curriculum requirements for Associate's or Bachelor's degrees in enology or brewing.

No license or permit required for qualified academic institutions to conduct authorized tastings.
