AB 2117 Summary

• Requires both the Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County Boards of Supervisors to jointly order the dissolution of the Santa Barbara San Luis Obispo Regional Health Authority, rather than allowing Santa Barbara alone to dissolve it.

• Dissolution becomes effective 180 days after the later-adopted resolution or ordinance is passed by both county boards.

• Designates Santa Barbara County as the successor to the dissolved authority, responsible for winding up its affairs and controlling all funds and property.

• Limits Santa Barbara County's liability as successor to only the assets of the dissolved authority, with asset distribution governed by Government Code Chapter 6.
