Requires state and local agencies conducting truancy-related mediation or prosecuting pupils and their parents/guardians to provide outcome information to referring agencies, school districts, and school attendance review boards using cost-effective methods such as email or telephone.

Defines "outcome" as the imposed conditions or terms placed on a pupil or parent and the actions taken by authorities with respect to truancy-related mediation, prosecution, criminal complaints, or petitions.

Applies to referrals under Education Code Articles 5 and 48454, Penal Code Sections 270.1 and 272, and Welfare and Institutions Code Sections 601, 601.2, and 601.3.

Clarifies legislative intent is to identify evidence-based practices to reduce truancy and does not encourage additional referrals, complaints, petitions, or more serious sanctions for pupils.

Authorizes reimbursement to local agencies and school districts for state-mandated costs through existing statutory procedures if the Commission on State Mandates determines costs are imposed by the bill.
