Requires the Department of Industrial Relations to convene an advisory committee by January 1, 2016, to evaluate whether California safety orders for firefighter personal protective equipment align with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.

Mandates the advisory committee present findings and recommendations by July 1, 2016, with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board rendering a decision on adopting changes by July 1, 2017.

Requires the board to conduct comprehensive reviews of NFPA standard revisions for firefighter protective equipment beginning July 1, 2018, and every five years thereafter, with decisions on safety order modifications due by July 1 of the following year.

Advisory committee must include both management and labor representatives with expertise in firefighter protective equipment and firefighting practices.
